Take Action: Join Our Legacy of Self-Compassion

More than 7,000 research studies show the efficacy of self-compassion. The Center for Mindful Self-Compassion (CMSC) is living proof that self-compassion changes lives and communities. We've trained over 3,000 teachers in mindful self-compassion, impacting the lives of over 200,000 people in over 90 countries—and the waiting list for MSC scholarships grows every month.

With your help, we can provide our Circles of Practice daily meditation sessions for free and support the training of more MSC teachers like Susan Gitau. As a result of being granted scholarships to attend an MSC course, MSC Teacher Training, and CMSC’s Self-Compassion in Psychotherapy (SCIP) Professional Training Program, Kenyan therapist Dr. Susan Gitau has been able to bring self-compassion to her community in Kenya with an emphasis on addressing the high rate of youth suicide.

“My life with self-compassion has never been the same since I took these trainings. Personally, I used to be a very anxious therapist. I learned how to embody self-compassion and presence in my MSC classes and therapy sessions and have found a very great connection between myself and my clients and my African community.” - Susan Gitau

At the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion, we are on a mission to create a world where self-compassion touches every heart, healing, inspiring, and empowering individuals, communities, and the world at large. In 2024, your generosity has enabled us to reach incredible milestones:

  • The First Annual International Self-Compassion Day: Over 750 people from across the globe joined us, raising more than $32,000 to support self-compassion education and programming.
  • Circles of Practice: 1,165 free sessions and six free online retreats led by 50 dedicated MSC teachers have served 50,508 Zoom seats, offering solace and connection to individuals from diverse communities, including six affinity groups: MSC Graduates, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, men, Spanish-speaking, and healthcare.
  • Scholarships: 420 scholarships awarded, ensuring that financial barriers don’t prevent anyone from experiencing the life-changing benefits of MSC.
  • MSC Teacher Training: 70 new MSC teachers trained, expanding our global community to over 3,000 teachers dedicated to spreading the message of self-compassion.

These milestones reflect the growing impact of self-compassion, creating ripples of kindness, resilience, and healing that touch countless lives.
